Stephanie Dernek joined AMS in July 2021, and serves as the Director of Events for ADSO, while also offering her event expertise support to other AMS clients. Stephanie believes that through events, associations can drive growth, engagement, and belonging. Whether a committee meeting or a large-scale conference, events are essential experiences for association success. Stephanie also serves as the Chair of the AMS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee driving DEI initiatives at AMS.
Stephanie came to AMS with over 10 years of experience in membership organizations and association management, working within both stand-alone associations and AMCs. Her association experience includes global programs in over twelve countries, certification maintenance, and medical specialties.
Stephanie earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and her Master of Social Justice from Loyola University. She also holds two professional certifications, CAE, and CMP, as well as being a certified yoga instructor. Stephanie is based in Milwaukee, WI, and has a passion for nature, biking, yoga, travel, and time with her dog Rainbow Sparkles.
