Stephanie Dernek, who joined AMS in July 2021 and is currently the Director of Events for ADSO and WWCDA, firmly believes in the transformative power of events. She is dedicated to the idea that associations can foster growth, engagement, and a sense of belonging through events, be they committee meetings or large-scale conferences. Stephanie’s conviction underscores the crucial role of events in association success.
Stephanie came to AMS with over ten years of experience in membership organizations and associations, working within both stand-alone associations and AMCs. Her association experience includes global program management, certification maintenance, and medical specialties, strongly emphasizing events management, professional relations, and membership experience.
Stephanie earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and her Master of Social Justice from Loyola University. She holds two professional certifications, CAE, and CMP, and is a certified yoga instructor. Stephanie is based in Milwaukee, WI, and is passionate about DEI, nature, biking, yoga, travel, and spending time with her family, including her dog, Rainbow Sparkles.
