Matt Pina joined the Association Management Strategies (AMS) team in May 2017. He currently works with the American Board of Wound Management (ABWM) as Manager of Certification and Re-Certification, and with the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine(ABVLM) as Exam and MOC Program Administrator.
ABWM is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization established for the purpose of credentialing multi-disciplinary professionals in the field of wound management. The ABVLM is an independent non-profit organization that credentials physicians in the venous and lymphatic medicine field.
He enjoys working with others and building relationships. Association work gives him the opportunity to work with different individuals across a variety of areas. This makes for an interesting and adaptable work environment.
Prior to joining AMS Matt worked as an Office Administrator for the National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA). His role at NCBA provided valuable insight into the inner workings of a large not for profit membership organization. NCBA works in many developing countries across the globe providing guidance, support and assistance to cooperative businesses; predominantly farming cooperatives.
Outside of his full-time work Matt also works as an Event Staffer for Wake Forest University athletic events. Matt is originally from South Africa and spent his childhood on the move, growing up in South Africa, Greece, UAE and eventually Fort Lauderdale, FL. He currently lives in North Carolina. He plays competitive Field Hockey and loves to travel, hike and enjoy the outdoors.
